How to get to Munich

By air:

Munich airport is, after Frankfurt, the major hub in Germany with direct flights to many destinations in the world (airport code MUC).

The distance from the airport to the city centre is about 35 km. The most convenient way to get from the airport to your hotel is by taxi, which costs about 55 Euro and takes about 45 minutes.

To get to Munich main train station you can take the airport-shuttle (a one-way ticket costs 10 Euro), which departs every 20 minutes from the central area, Terminal 1/Area A and Terminal 2. It takes 40 minutes.

Alternatively you can take the trams S1 (destination Ostbahnhof) or S8 (destination Pasing/Geltendorf), which depart every 20 minutes from the airport and take about 40 minutes to the main train station.
